Food Engineer/Digital and Capex Specialist - Aarhus

How you will make an impact

As Pilot Plant Specialist you will be the prime responsible for rolling out digital solutions in our pilot plant where we run pilot scale trials for a wide range of dairy/plant-based products. You will work in close collaboration with pilot plant technicians and specialists from different teams. To be more specific, you will:

• Help implement capex, by defining the right requirements to suppliers and tests according to specifications.
• Drive the R&D capex process in the Arla Investment System and support compliance and best practice in rolling out capex across R&D.
• Assist in collecting and validating data from our small dairy plant
• Visualize process data from our small dairy plant in Power BI or other visualization tools.
• Update and educate the pilot plant team to use selected digital solutions
• Participate in how we can introduce digital traceability in the pilot plant
• Participate in creating a stronger link to the digitalization of our supply chain and how we can work together for the greater purpose of Arla. Improving the handover from product development to production with a strong data foundation and tools.
• Close collaboration with IT colleagues, colleagues working with processing and product developers to deliver and visualize high quality data

You will become a member of an innovative and creative environment in which you will get the opportunity to handle multiple tasks and unit operations. The position entails a wide contact both internally in the different departments within the Innovation Centre and the wider Arla community, but also with external parties.

What will make you successful

You are process/food engineer or process/food technician and you possess relevant work experience from the food industry. Furthermore, you have a solid understanding of technical contexts and are used to handling equipment specifications, data and processes. The trials conducted at our pilot facilities are the first steps determining, which products will end up in the customers’ baskets. Therefore, it is important that you act responsibly in regard to food safety.

You will have a close interaction with colleagues across teams within Science, Technology, Product Development, Manufacturing Intelligence and IT. Hence the ability to engage with and influence a wide stakeholder group is essential for the role. You are able to navigate smoothly in a project-oriented environment with many tasks and deadlines. Using your knowledge, commitment and creativity, you succeed in challenging your colleagues and contribute to the development of the Pilot Plant Team. You master both written and oral English.
